Take the 2016 Cover Crop Survey!

Right now, we’re conducting the 2016 Cover Crop Survey, and we need your help. Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts and insight on cover crops. We’ll ask you whether you grow cover crops, some questions about your farm, your thoughts on the benefits and challenges of cover crops, and a few questions on other issues related to cover crops.
How do your answers help?
The results of the SARE/CTIC Cover Crop Survey provide vital insight into what’s happening in the field, what benefits cover crops are delivering, and what may be helping or hindering their use.  We use that information to help:
  • Shape the next wave of research and demonstration projects on cover crops
  • Guide the development of educational materials to help farmers and advisors more effectively use cover crops to accomplish their objectives
  • Influence policy that impacts cover crops, from incentive programs to crop insurance rules.
Results from the 2013 SARE/CTIC Cover Crop Survey were cited by USDA NRCS Chief Jason Weller in testimony on Capitol Hill.
Our survey was also referenced in a New York Times Article - "Cover Crops, a Farming Revolution with Deep Roots in the Past."
We Need YOU!
The more farmers that participate, and the more details and insight we gather, the deeper our understanding of cover crop use will be…and the more impact we can get from the results.  It doesn’t matter if you love cover crops, or if you have loads of experience with them.  Even if you’ve never planted cover crops, your opinion is important to us.  We need to know what you think.
